It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #2

This is a weekly event hosted by J. Kaye's Book Blog to discuss what we've been reading in the past week as well as those that will be read within this week. Do click on the image above to participate and join the fun!

It has been a fantastic reading week where I managed to complete all three books that I planned to read last week =) So, needless to say, I am so happy! Books that I managed to munch was:

Books to be read this week:
(1) A Child Called 'It' by Dave Pelzer
(2) The Rescue by Nicholas Sparks
(3) Dewey by Vicki Myron

I'm hoping that last week pattern could be retained and that my motivation to munch books like a Cookie Monster to be even greater this week. So, do you want to tell me what your plan is for this week?

  5. I love the Dark Tower series. Are you going to finish all of the books, or stop with the Gunslinger?

  6. I keep avoiding Dewey because I already know it's likely to be sad (It's the Marley & Me paradox) because it has an animal in it, but all my library's patrons that have read it have enjoyed it.

  7. These look really good. My daughter read A Child Called It and it sounded quite interesting, though deeply disturbing.

  8. The Gunslinger's all I ever read from this Stephen King series. It was well-written, but not really my sort of book, though I do like Stephen King in general.

    Have a happy reading week!

  9. I loved A Child Called It. Yes it was sad but fascinating because he turned out so "normal" despite what he endured.

I really want to read Dewey, but that's not surprising when you see my blog and all the animal books I read. lol

Have a great week of reading!

  10. @Teddyree: Thank you! I've read a couple of chapters of "A Child Called It" and do liking it so far (Despite all those disturbing stuffs in it!)

@Darlyn: I can understand how chaotic things could be when we're trying to catch a deadline. Hope that things will settle down soon for you so that you can devour as many books as you like.

@NancyO: I have the first four of the books, so I will definitely read those in near future. I've a great feeling that I'll continue this series till the final chapter. Have you finish reading them all?

  14. I kind of stay away from Charlaine Harris. I don't know why, maybe I don't want my love of True Blood to get weirded out somehow...lol

I hope you have a great reading week this week!:D

  15. @Juju: You'd have to let me know if you did read anything by her that you found interesting. Most friends of mine like her writing but it seems like her book wasn't my cup of tea.

@Ruth: *lol* I feel like both book and TV series did live up to my expectations. I seriously love them =)

  19. With audio, I average three books a week usually. For 2010, I need to speed it up a bit more. How many books a week would you like to be able to read?

  20. I read A Child Called It as well and Dave Pelzer came and talked to our schools about child abuse.

  21. I really like The Rescue, another tear jerker by Nicholas Sparks, but all his books make you cry at some point. I'm reading Dear John this week, so I've got the tissues ready.

Have a great reading week Shy!

  22. Absolutely love Charlaine Harris -- hope you enjoyed Dead Until Dark!

  23. I've read all the Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse and loved them. Hope you enjoyed this one. A Child Called It is really sad. Dewy is on my list to read later this year for a challenge.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I have read quite a few of Pratchett's books and find then to be very funny. One of my favorites was The Truth.

  24. I've yet to read a book by Stephen King! Terrible, I know. I have to see what all the hype is about.

  26. Great selections you have this week! Dewey is such a good book! I thought it was so cute and touching, especially for cat lovers. A Child Called It was also powerful and touching. And Nicholas Sparks is just awesome and all of his books are lovely. Enjoy!!!

  27. Hi, they look like a great selection - A Child Called It is very full on, I hope that you like it.

  28. Congrats on meeting your reading goals! I'm going to check out your review on Mr. Maybe. I've only read a couple Jane Green books, and I've either loved or hated them. Maybe this is a 'love' one?

    Here's what I'm reading.

  29. @Nina: I've to agree with you regarding Nicholas Sparks. His novels that I've read so far are very good. Some might think his writing is too sappy but I think it is rather interesting to read things from male POV.

@J.Kaye: About 4 sounds great to me, but I am happy with 3 for now and hoping to improve myself more later on!

@CJ: I remembered having to preordered these books from MPH few months ago. Perhaps you should try that. They won't charge you anything extra :)

@Christina: I enjoyed Dead Until Dark. Think that it was fun read - for now. Hoping that the next book would be even better.

@Alitareads: *lol* Nope - I actually despise that book!
