A Toast, For The New Beginning

I’ve been wanting to start my own blog since a *very* long time ago. Though, the fact that I’m quite sure there is nothing interesting in my life to be blogged about, I cast that thought away without thinking deeply onto it. However, lately I’ve came across quite a few book blogs that I like A LOT and the thoughts came right in once again. But this time, it took me quite awhile to think about it and finally decide that I got nothing to lose and many more things to gain. Hence, here it is – my very own blog – which will incorporate the stories about books I read, my boring life in general and my bit-more-interesting life as a grad student.

I’m writing here as Shy because it is actually an abbreviation of my name at birth. Besides, I am literally a very shy person (Not kidding about that!). I believe that I am TOO far from being a perfect person. Therefore, I welcome any criticism that somewhat can make myself a better person and also improve myself in anything that I’m lacking of.  Speaking of interests, music is the other thing that I love besides reading. I also love going out for a movie and am a proud aunt for a cat named Duke, which I will introduce on this blog one day.

Last but not least, I would like to thank those book blogs out there that inspired me to start a page of my own (Special thanks to The Book Muncher and J. Kaye’s Book Blog as those are the first 2 book blogs that I read). I remember a quote that I heard when watching Meet Joe Black for the 100th times few hours ago – “Who knows... Lightning could strike!”. I feel like I’ve been struck and I’m definitely happy about it.

I’m looking forward to make new friends and acquaintances here. Until later, toodles!

p.s. To those who are interested, you can also find me on Shelfari and Goodreads. I promise that you can find my face there more often than you've ever wanted to *lol*
